Do You Take Insurance?
I have elected to no longer be a preferred provider for insurance companies. Instead, I provide physical therapy on a “fee at time of service” basis. By removing myself from a preferred provider/contracted status with the insurance companies, I do not have to limit the time or quality of treatment I provide because of insurance company restrictions. Nor do I have to treat multiple patients consecutively. I can dedicate my attention to YOU alone. My extensive experience means that I can usually treat your problem with fewer appointments. What you are paying for is my skilled, devoted and professional expertise and time.
What is the Cost?
Initial Assessment (90 minutes): $175
Follow-Up Visits (60 minutes): $150
Home Initial Assessment (90 minutes): $200
Home Follow-Up Visits (60 minutes): $175
Pelvic Party (60-75 minutes): Free

Is an Internal Exam Necessary?
During an Initial Assessment, a comprehensive external examination is performed. At Empower Women's Health, we understand that the body needs to function as a whole so when one part of the whole is affected, there are likely other parts involved. An internal exam will also be performed at the first visit only after explaining the rationale for the assessment/treatment and after obtaining your voluntary consent. The internal exam will provide insight into the issue at hand and can help determine treatment strategies. If this is something you are not initially ok with, we can focus on other areas while still treating the pelvic floor.
What if I have my period on the day
of my appointment?
No worries, we ask that you still continue with your appointment. We can still treat the same, or can treat externally depending on your preference. Sometimes symptoms and pain/discomfort can change during our menstrual cycle, so that can be an important time to be assessed and treated. As long as you are comfortable proceeding, then so are we.
Do I need a prescription?
No, NJ is a direct-access state, so you do not need a referral or prescription from your Physician. Although for certain health issues and pregnancy, it is beneficial and recommended that you have seen a medical Physician first prior to starting PT. For example, if you are pregnant or recently had surgery, than you will need to be cleared by your medical provider before the start of physical therapy treatment.
After 30 days, we will reassess and inform the physician of your choice of your progress based upon New Jersey law; NJ State Board of Physical Therapy: a physical therapist (1) must refer the patient if he fails to demonstrate reasonable progress during the first 30 days of treatment, and (2) within 30 days of initial treatment of functional limitation or pain, consult with the individual’s licensed health care professional as to the appropriateness of the treatment, or if there is no licensed professional of record, recommend that the patient consult with one.
What if I have out-of-network physical therapy benefits?
While payment is due at the time of service, you will be provided with a "superbill" that you can send to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
